Established in 1988 by
George and Sotiroula Georgiades. It is Situated
in the small artist's village of Lemba, five Kilometers
west of Paphos on the way to Coral Bay.
All the work is individually hand crafted Using the technique of "wheel Throwing" to achive the final form and surface texture.
Superiour quality is guaranteed by the using highfired stoneware clay fired in a
gas kiln. |

| This along with the so-called
"unbalanced glazes"give the pieces a very
distinctive surface texture. No two pieces
of pottery are ever the same. All of the glazes
are lead-free and developed in situ. Their matt
finsh give the work earthly, natural hues. Other
glazes help to reproduce the turquoise and deep
blue pieces, the color of the Mediterranean. The
idea has always been to keep things as far as simple
as possible. |

| For George
and Sotiroula pottery is all about form and texture.
Beauty comes form simplicity. Lemba pottery
also produces distinctive cups, mugs, kitchen jars,
water jugs, storage jars, and dinner plates and
other practical pieces as well as more decorative
items like vases large bowls and "one-off"
pieces. All serving pieces are oven-proof,
microwave and dishwasher safe and meet all European
standards of hygiene. |
