ABOUT LEMBA POTTERY
Lemba Pottery was established in 1988 by George and Sotiroula Georgiades. It is situated in the small artist’s village of Lemba, near Paphos in the west of the island of Cyprus.
All our work is handmade, primarily on the potter’s wheel. We also use other techniques for non-round shapes such as slab building, coiling, pinching and tiling for wall installations. Our creative ethos is ‘Beauty from simplicity’ with a focus on form and texture.
WHAT WE PRODUCE
Our primary purpose is to produce pottery for everyday use. In the spirit of simplicity and practicality we produce a series of mugs, cups, kitchen jars, dinner plates, bowls and other kitchen ware. Although we make complete dinner sets, one has to accept that no two items are identical.
What characterises our decorative collection is the elegant forms, diverse textures and minimal decoration. Our collection covers a large range of ceramics that can transform your interior and exterior areas into places with character and style of your taste.
This category is the most experimental and same time very exciting dealing with unique projects or coming up with concepts for exhibitions. Here is where creativity and freedom of implementing new ideas and trying new techniques is flourishing.
